Default Price on '71 LS5

My brother wants to sell his partially restored '71 LS5, M21 4 speed, with AC, Nevada silver with black leather interior coupe. This is a frame-off resto that needs minor body prep for paint and then re-assembly. Original GA car with 82k. I'd buy it but finances won't allow me to. What is a good selling price?

If original number matching car I would say it is worth 32-38k depending on quality of restoration, paperwork, etc.

It might require another 8-10k for prep and paint and 3-5k of assembly to get it to that price point.

Hard to say without photos and more details.

Thx for the input. I believe he wil be selling it as a project. This is an all numbers matching car. Birdcage has no rust, nor the frame.

IF I were looking at the car and I knew I would have to put 10 to 15 grand into it for paint and my labor to put it back together I honestly would NOT be willing to pay more then $12,000 or $13,000 for the car IF THAT MUCH......

He would be better off having it painted and put back together as a fully restored car and selling it for say $28,000 to $30,000

Just my opinion..as I price my own labor on the high side...

yes, a disassembled car needing paint.. who knows what else it needs.. an AC big block is an excellent basis and would bring lots more than a base engine basket case...

if solid metal and not needing a whole lot more.. maybe 10K...

How far along is the "restoration"? Is the car drivable?

So we've narrowed it down to between $5K and $38K.
