Default Sweet headlight upgrade

Good morning.

I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I am sorry for borrowing the pic from Corvette Central's photos page (Customs). Thank you Duane S for posting this to CC's web site.

I actually don't like the headlight upgrade without the clear lenses....but again that's possibly just me. Anyone have a clue where this upgrade can be found?

Thanks....

This upgrade is nice, always liked it a bit, but the smoothed in bumper makes it pop/look better.

That is the Ecklers headlight kit. Popular in the late 1970's or so. Not sure if they still sell them.

Personally, I prefer the old racer style if you want fixed headlights. Much more expensive though.

For a non-racing car, that "upgrade" may look , but I bet the amount of light you put on the road is reduced considerably...especially at the right side of the road.

Back in 2007, a pair of covers cost $549 from F. Gregg Racing. And that was just the covers. If interested in this setup, I would contact Second Gen Restorations http://2ndgenrestorations.com/ who did the black/silver car.

Ecklers has the kit for the lamps and the covers separate. This link is for the covers and in the similar items area below are the lights depending on what year you need.

Looks like you can get the whole setup for ~$1,000. I think I'll stick with my stock setup.

My buddy has a brand new set up that he has had in the gargar forever. I asked him today if he was going to use them. He said he would sell them. I took pics, but have not had the time to download and transfer. He does'nt have the clear top lens though.

Yes, the covered lights look good. Thought about doing it a long time ago.
