Default Paint manifold?

Anyone ever paint their manifold? Everyone that adds bling, has anyone ever painted the manifold, instead of chrome?

I used VHT's silver high temp paint with a 3/4" brush to paint my exhaust manifolds and it looks terrific...

On mine, I painted the block and valve covers Chevy Orange and left the aluminum (heads and intake), aluminum. I hate chrome except on exhaust tips.

I'm cleaning my intake right now and will probably stick with orange brush on paint.

Yes, both intake and exhaust. Which are you inquiring about?

Which manifold?

Yes - painted the intake with high temp chevy orange.

No - on the exhaust manifold used Calyx manifold dressing (http://calyxmanifold.com/) - wasn't removing the manifolds, the dressing can be applied with your hands.

i used a temp gun on my exhaust headers just yesterday and the temps were just a little over 500 degrees on most tubes right out of the heads so pick a paint or coating at that degree will probably last awhile.
If i have to touch up sometimes i just spray a rattle can flat black on it and let it burn on and cool down a couple of times and it sticks a good while but I think nothing will last forever.

If its the intake then just go to Autozone, Oreilys or what ever your brand is and pick up some engine spray paint in a rattle can and put on about 3 coats, first a dusting , second cover all then third pull back and give a good solid coat and let dry, put about 5 mins in between coats and a good day or so before you put it on.

You could always paint it silver with a clearcoat for that faux chrome look. I think Eastwood.com sells the paints.

Do it, you'll be glad you did. While I didn't do my whole engine, the intake manifold is a much more prominant piece that you'll see when you open up the hood. I couldn't stand the sight of mine now that I had cleaned up most everything else. I had the carb off to be refinished so it was the perfect time.

Went from this:

to this:

I just used Rustoleum Engine Enamel 500F for primer and paint.
