Not aware of any "free" manuals. You might try eBay or Amazon...

If you just want 'basic' information, a Chilton's manual is OK. If you want good, detailed information about all the systems in your car, nothing will replace the Chevrolet Chassis Service Manual.

This is the only "free" manual I have seen. The Chevy manual will cost you $30.

The manuals (GM Shop Manual & AIM) are some of the best money you'll ever spend

I agree! Well worth the money to keep your car in your own garage not at the shop.

If you can find the GM shop manual for $30 you're getting a good deal. Best I could find was $50 for mine.

Hi qw,
I believe the model year has an effect on the price.
The NCRS store sells the 66-72 CSM for $25.

I think some years have their own manuals. All I've seen for 73 is 66 thru 82. Does anyone know if their are individual manuals for all years?

I have the '81 only manual. its for one model year and 4 times as many pages as a chilton that covers '62-'82. (it actually says '63-'83)

If you search hard enough you will find them. I got the GM service manuals for both my 73 and the 64. They are out there.

Do the service manuals have the same repair info as the shop manuals?

I have several books on Sookie (my 72) I seem to remember in the past some one posted a link to a collage website that had books on most makes and models. I was trying to fix my buddies car. But thank you all for the good links and the advice.

Hi f,
I have both the Chassis Service Manual and Shop Manual.
The Shop Manual seems to have sections taken from the CSM.
I really only use the CSM.

Thanks A,
So even though the Service Manual has info for other Chevys beside Corvette it is more comprehensive then the 66-82 Corvette Shop Manual?
