Replacement Seat Belts
I have a 74 coupe that I want to replace the seat belts. The retractors are located near the sill by the bottom of the door. I've looked at most of the popular parts sites for "single retractor lap and shoulder belts" but only seem to find the retractors mounted in the cargo area. Does anyone know what I'm missing here?
Thanks for the help. G

Don't know what you are looking at, but all of the suppliers are showing what you need.
One of the retractors is mounted in the rear compartment area, over the wheel well. The other retractor is mounted under your seats.

you can get single or double retractor belts on ebay. you'll want to have the retractor on the shoulder strap, not the lap portion under the seat if you do a single retractor.
The single retractor belts mount the same way as the double retractor, the lower retractor replaced by an anchor bolt.

Here is where I was looking. I was going to get these;

They also have corvette replacements, but, spendy.

Are you trying to stay original? I changed over to RJS harness'.. Mounted to factory seat hardpoints... Single eyebolt through floor behind seats for the shoulder belts to attach to...

Thanks to all replys. I took the drivers side seat out, took out the retractor covers both bottom and the one over the wheel well. There are definatley 2 retractors. I'm not trying to stay original, so I wouldn't have a problem if I could convert this to a single retractor. I guess I could mount the retractor on the wheel well, and hard mount the bottom to the frame. Does anyone see a problem with that plan. The single retractor sets are about $200 cheaper than the dual. Thanks again all.

I orderd the single retractor set from Corvette America, and also the full carpet set. They had 10% off internet orders and free shipping. That added up to a huge savings for the shipping of the carpet alone. According to FEDEX, they are on the wat from PA, and jare do here tomorrow. I hope to tackle the seat belts this weekend, and will post the results when I finish. Thanks to everyone for the responses. G

I did the single retractor set on my 73, thru the headrest. So there is no optional shoulder belt. It's all or none. They are comfortable enough. The retractors are a little sticky when pulling them out if the angle gets too sharp. Once you've adjusted to that they are great!
