Default Most funny comments!

I just went through this thread ( http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...rite-year.html ) and reading the comments made me laugh! What are some of the most funny/strangest comments people have made about your Corvettes?

I had someone come up and "brag" about their extensive knowledge on Corvettes, then check out the body of my '73 and praise it for no rust!

Hi,
In 1971 when my future wife saw it for the first time she asked, "what kind of Mustang is this"!
Still have both.
Regards,
Alan

You would be surprised at the number of girl friends that will pass a Mustang or Camaro and "Wish they had a corvette!"

One day I was changing my wheels in the driveway on my '69 and an unknown neighborhood boy was scootering around the cul-de-sac.

Boy: "Nice Mustang!"
Me: "It's not a Mustang!"
Boy" "Yes it is."
Me: *in my head* 'WTF? you little ****, don't you think I know what kind of car I own? '
Me: "It's a Corvette."
Boy: *scootered on outta there.

I guess I was not in the best of moods an when this little booger eater wanted to argue about with me, I shot him a nasty look. My wife and I lol'd about it later.

My son's friend dad stop over when I was working on my 71... looking for some common ground he started to tell me about the 82 that his father had and that it was way to fast for him to drive. He then proceeded to tell me how he liked Goodyear tires more than Michelin because they were wider. I looked at him and said yea.. they seem to be... want a beer?

The guy I used to work for had a son (around 12 years old or so) and he told me my all black '82 looked just like the Batmobile.

A kid rode his bike down my street. I had the hood up and was doing something. I heard him say 'wow' and tore off. A few minutes later, he came peddling back, this time with a friend. I heard the friend say "awww, it's just a Corvette." I guess some people are hard to impress.

Autozone counter kid: Year and model?
Me: '71 'vette
ACK: Was that the one with the aluminum body?
Me: ???
ACK: Yeah, they made them out of aluminum, but only for one year.
Me: No.... no... it's not the aluminum one... <sighing internally>

I took my car to a car wash station and a guy driving a '78 Corvette came by while I was putting back the T-tops before the wash saying : Man!, you're so lucky that your car has the T-Top option!, I wish mine has them!, I swear to god this is a true story!

I was at a local Cruise In a couple of years ago and a woman asks her boyfriend/husband if Corvette made trucks too.
Couldn't help but laugh.

True story... Autozone. I walk in and ask for a water pump for 1977 Corvette 5.7 liter. Young man behind the counter looks at a co-worker and says "Who makes Corvette?" Other young man says "I think Chevrolet"... and looks at me and says "Right?" I say "Yep".

They actually had one in stock!

Lets not even go down that road. The newest generation of parts counter kids are totally clueless. I walked into Vatzone a year ago and asked for a pair of 2.5 in cherry bombs....the kid looked at me like I was crazy...

Ive also run into the 'Who makes Corvette?" question....

How about when you tell them its a 72 Big Block and they ask "5.7 or 7.4 liter'.....

That does not work as well for the kids on bikes, though :-)
