69 courtesy light switch problems
I have issues with both of my courtesy light switches at the front of the door jamb.
I have the original sx marked switches.
I purchased another set of original switches off of the forum, but they were actually in worse condition than the ones I had on the car already, as the springs were much more weak.
Everything works properly when I have the switch out of the door jamb, but when I screw it into place I only get it to work every 6-7 times I push the plunger in...and then the switch starts crackling and I pop a fuse. I have gone through about 8 fuses now.
I even tried to disassemble a new replacement switch, and reassemble it with the sx marked plunger, but the opening for the 3 wires in the white plastic part of the new switch (I have factory alarm) is a bit larger than the opening on the factory switch, so the blades move around too much and don't make a good connection.
Any ideas?
Can I get 3 new blades for each side that are larger so I can make them stay in place? Would be easy to splice them in.
