Default Simple solution to a common problem

Every year or so i pull my engine and transmission, and every year I have to clean up transmission oil. After drinking a 5 hour energy I had an idea. Use it as a replacement for the trans yoke. It fit just little loose but 4 layers of duct tape and it fits snug. This 5 hour energy really work when you have to apply some critical thinking No more spills and i am wired for the next 5 hours to get the job done.

As Marine Gunnery Sgt. Highway said in a movie: you adapt. you overcome. you improvise.

Nice job, luerja. No more messy floors and wet trails. (before making a plug, when that stuff wears off, is it smart not to operate heavy machinery anymore? Just asking: I'm not a customer.)

I also work on other peoples transmissions installing shift kits, and they don't come with the yoke end. Which was the case this morning and the transmission in the picture.

I've used the yoke (when it was handy) and made a substitute when it wasn't. Both methods work fine to keep the oil IN the tranny.

No it seems not to be a problem. I use it a lot. It's mostly vitamins and about 1 cup of coffees worth of caffeine. I also find I can use it 2 hours before I need to sleep and it won't hinder that.

luerja also bought one 22 years ago, but it got worn out from pulling the engine so many times! The reason he pulls the engine so much is 'cuz he drinks waaaaay to much 5 hour energy drink!

Fun? Maybe the first time.

Fun is DRIVING my C3, not pulling the engine and trans every year or so. WTH?

Thanks, duramaxky. Didn't know as that's something I hadn't tried bc of stories I've heard. Just curious.

Still a cheap & quick solution, luerja. I'm cleaning mine up too.

It's a great feeling when you can fully solve a problem with just the materials you have on hand.

I've got way too many tools to try to keep up with a stupid plug for 22 years especially if like Luerja is drinking from a new plug every few days. Besides, a couple of bucks will buy him one more energy drink!
