Default 72 Restoration - Engine Looking Good

Working towards 2nd flight award. Added date correct, numbers correct carb, TSC and Idle solenoids, hoses etc. etc. Car is running better with everything that gets done!

Click any pic for a larger version.

I know being able to find nice clean pics helped me through this process -- so thought I'd put these out there for anyone else looking for reference.

That looks good. A couple of observations that I see and I may be wrong.
1. I think the oil fill on the 72's was a rubber push in plug not the twist in type
2. Master cylinders had the two bleed screws
3. water pump has the plug in it were the by pass was and smallblocks did not have that.
(I think I have a correct watter pump for your year)

Thanks.

72 (late) could have either cap. I do have both. Metal one as correct markings.

Water pump was replaced. If I find a correct replacement, I'd consider changing it.

Scott,

You might think about taking a run out to Geese's Auto Farm, for some of the small original parts (tower clamps, vacuum hoses etc.). It's a you pull it type of junk yard.

WB

PS: You're making nice progress, I'd bet you'll be closer to a Top Flight if you keep this up!

Certainly looks better than my 72. Good luck on that flight award.

Depending on the VIN, that pump might be correct as-is. This is a 5 star bowtie car that belongs to a friend:
