Mine ended up being $47 to the town and $14 to the state with the antique plate. With a regular plate last year, I paind $60 more to state. Town was the same.
Massachusetts, 50 bucks every two years, plus excise tax every year. I think it's only like, 19 bucks a year for my '80 'vette. Not bad for Taxachusetts, but they get ya in other ways.
Seems like us Aussies are getting shafted on everything.....
For my '74 Vette only.
Breakdown:
Registration fee = $191.60
Compulsory 3rd party injury insurance = $366
Insurance Duty = $36.60
Total = $594
Welcome to car ownership in Victoria, Australia.
My motorcycle isn't much cheaper (about $500 a year).
Add to this ....
Gas around $5 a gallon
Cigarettes about $15 fro pack of 30.

Moderators - Please lock this thread before some Ohio lawmaker reads it and decides we aren't paying as much as most people. They get us so many other ways.
$24. It doesn't matter if you have a Ferrari or a 'vintage' Corvette [or a Yugo ]. That's the annual charge for a car in Tennessee. And we like it that way!!!
In AZ mine was $128 for 5 years including the $20 title transfer fee and the solid brass historic vehicle plates. Need to have collector insurance as well which keeps me from having smog testing.
I can't remember for sure, but I'm about to pay it so I'll get a reminder, lol. I think my '80 vette is $39.00 or something. I have a custom plate, but not a historical one.
For my '77 here in Bama I think I pay $24.50 for a standard tag. Its coming up again in May and I might check into a Vintage Auto tag, but I think there are some restrictions on those, as in a mileage limit or something.

In Virginia, I can drive the car to any show I like, any distance away.
And if I drive/trailer the car away from home for a show, I have full rights to use it in a like manner no matter where I am.
I am also permitted to use the car for "pleasure". There is no mileage restriction for the amount of "pleasure" I can get, though my insurance will get sceptical much over 4,000 miles a year.
My "pleasure" drives are restricted to within 250 miles of my home. If I am beyond that, I need to be going to a show or driving around a show. That's a 4+ hour drive, though...I think I'm safe.
I absolutely cannot commute to work in the car.
If I am found in violation of the regulations (which I'd have to try pretty hard to violate, really), my registration is revoked and the car is "unregisterable" (parked) for 5 years.
All in all, the tags wouldn't fit if it is a daily driver, but it is very easy to conform with the regulations if it is a true third/fourth car used for pleasuring one's self.
We have annual "property tax" in South Carolina. My 1979 Corvette is $14 but my 2007 Corvette was $968(!). The primary reason I will always be hesitant to buy new, is the outrageous ANNUAL "property tax".
Wow...property tax on a car. Surprised the Canadian governments haven't picked up on that one.
Vette (historic plate) $18/yr
Everything else $74/yr.

Have to disagree with the $24 charge depends on which county you are in. We pay $49 for our dd 2011 ford taurus our county has a road tax added. If I remember correctly it was $27 for my 69 corvette antique tag. as long as I own the corvette it never expires and no yearly charges. as long as i have the antique tag I can run a '69 tag on the car. I have a '69 arizona tag on it now.

In WA state, the registration fee is tied to 9.5% of car's sale price. That amount totaled $1493--a one time tax, no renewal fees, and includes collector license plate. Would have rather allocated the funds for new interior.

Yes, in Tennessee the "basic" rate for tags is $24...but depending on "wheel" taxes, or whatever the individual county wants to call it, it is more.
Currently in Nashville (Davidson County) it is just under $90 with the $10 emmission test.
The "Antique" plate does not require an emmissions test. it is around $50 and does not expire. Standard "Limited Use Restrictions " apply. (I know several Metro Nashville officers, and have been told by many of them they generally "Leave the Classic Cars Alone, Unless They Are Doing Something Stupid')
You can also run "Year Of Manufacture" plates provided you have your Antique plate in the car if an officer askes to see it. Registering the YOM plate number is not required.
This is what I run. (need a month sticker)

Hi,
In Maryland its $51 for a HISTORIC registration and plate. Then $26.50 more if you want to display a VINTAGE plate.
Regards,
Alan
Alan I have historic plates on 2 of my Corvettes plus Vintage plates on 3 other corvettes and I do not remember ever being hit an additional 26 bucks for displaying the vintage plates...
The Van ran me $280.00 last week to keep my wife on the road...
Those Australian guys must pay thru the nose plus an arm and a leg for everything... I'm active on 3 worldwide astronomy forums and when I see what astro gear sells for down under I almost fall off my chair..My $3,000 telescope sells for about $8,000 in Australia...
Boy the BEER better be cheap...!!!!!! or even FREE
I was thinking I paid a one time fee of $35 for my antique plates on my 79, plus 10 extra bux for them being personalized. I know that on standard use plates, you only pay an extra $10 per year for personalized here in VA. Antique and vintage plates in VA are a one time only fee.

My historic plates in New York run $28.75 per year. That's the only thing I pay for in NYS that's reasonable. Everything else is totally out of whack!!!
