I paid $38 total. This includes $10 for the Antique Auto plates. We have road use tax here also. I believe it varies from county to county. I think mine was $35 for two vehicles.
These amounts are per year.
Collector plates and insurance,$24/month.Expensive,corrupt and incompetent provincial government run insurance cash cow that bribes the police to harass the common man,as well the ruling elite take any profits from raping the public to give to their favorite cronies.Other than that, they do have a decent and reasonable collector car plan, basically car must be fairly original and in good condition, must have the stock radio and can't be driven to work more than a few time a year.
Two years ago I put on a year-correct plate and paid a one time fee of $86.00. I do not pay anything more, ever. The car is registered in perpetuity until I sell it. If I sell it, the new owner can do the same deal (if the State of Michigan still has the program). My insurance is only about $120 a year, too. This makes my Vette, even with a little project slush fund and the cost of gas, the cheapest car I own.
In Hawaii:
My 76 Vette 98.00 every year plus a 15.00 safety inspection(no smog testing just overall vehicle inspection)
No fault insurance required to pass inspection.Cops will cite you for expired registration and or safety inspection.100.00 for each violation.
The cops are bored here and do sneak attacks, one hangs out on a hill overlooking the road and he radio's his buddies ahead who are where you cant see em till its to late.If he see's the driver using a cell phone ,not using there seatbelt's,or other violation your toast.Someone I know had 400.00 in tickets......There protecting you and others around you ..OK..
