Default Shoulder Harness Removal

Is there easy way to unthread the shoulder harness from the seat on a 71 Corvette? I want to remove the seat to do some under dash work. With the seat out, access to the under dash of the car should be easier. However, I don't want to get caught-up in a big ordeal trying to remove the seat. The shoulder harness seems to be my biggest impediment at this time. I can't see any way to pass the plastic retainer through the opening in the seat.

Hi w,
Yes there's a couple of methods... you can warm the plastic sleeve with a hair dryer, or put it in hot water. This makes the sleeve soft enough that you can work it through the opening in the seat.
Same thing when you put it back through.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan

That did the trick. A cold garage in Ohio makes those retainers hard as a rock. The hairdryer softened them right up.

Thanks again

Pat
