Default Deluxe interior

What was the difference between the standard interior and the deluxe in 1971? Just the door pannels?

In addition to the angled carpet piece at the bottom of the door panels you also got:
Leather seat covers instead of vinyl
madrid grain sunvisors
cut pile carpeting instead of 80/20 loop
I'm not sure if I'm leaving something out, someone will chime in.

Regards
Roy

I think this will answer your question on door panels...

Door Panels, Do I have or want Bare, Standard or Deluxe Panels?

Aside from this... Deluxe interior cars had smooth visors, leather seats, cut pile carpet.

Standard came with comfort weave visors (textured), vinyl Comfort weave seat covers and loop carpet.

Exactly, but it looked fake.

Anyone still sell these? I've been looking for a while.

Most of the vendors sell the decals?

Sorry but I believe comfort weave sun visors were installed on standard & deluxe interiors.

Real wood veneer was used on the door panel inserts as well as the center console however they are not being offered by any vendor that I know of.

Really? I always wondered why my 72 deluxe has comfort weave visors.

What cars had the vinyl Madrid visors?

It was real wood on a thin piece of metal. I have a bunch of NOS ones that were damaged in a fire we had in 92....

Clubby, we should have the real wood ones.. I'll have to double check this later today..

S/S trim on the foot pedals (I think) was deluxe interior only.

Hi,
I believe the stainless steel trim was applied to all pedals for the model years 70 and 71. It wasn't part of the custom interior.
In the 72 model year I don't think any cars had the ss pedal trim.
Regards,
Alan

You're most likely correct Alan.

72 had the smaller gas pedal and no chrome on any.

Ernie: I'd order a real wood veneer center console cover if you have one.

If you do find them be sure to buy the correct one. There is one for an A/C car or a non A/C car. (Two cut outs for the vent levers/*****).
