WOW! I have 3 of those "emblems" on my car.
One on the left fender and one on each door below the handle that somehow opens the door.

I always tell people, it's not a stupid question if you dont know the answer. So no, it was not a bad question. Now you know what it is.

The thing about the question... Well, I don't have that key hole on either side... So yes, I repaint must have taken care of that. As for the alarm system, once I get back under the hood I'll take a look for evidence that it was there, but it sure isn't there now.

I wasn't aware of the fact that all 75's had an alarm. You guys definately know your stuff. Thanks for all the info.

And Easy Mike, maybe you should reconsider your monicker? Not so easy. The AIM I have is in tatters; many sections have more oil on it than a bad garage floor. So I ask questions here in an attempt to make things EASY. I am reading you loud and clear, I'll have to invest in a new one. No need to mention it again. I gotcha. Thanks.

Ken, that is absolutely hilarious. I'm still laughing out loud. That's great.

Sometimes the obvious just doesn't make it from our eyes to our brain.
Happens to all of us at one time or another
Glad you didn't take offense when we poked a little fun at you.

No offense taken. You have all been so helpful, I'm indebted.

It's funny though, with only a pic here and there to go by, I really had no idea. Like I said both sides of mine are identical, no "emblem" / key hole... But man, in retrospect, that's a good story...

Ranks right up there with a friend of mine who swears he's seen a rear engine corvette.
