wing/spoiler

I am not a "purist" by any means, I just think that C3 'vettes look so good that there really isn't much you can do to them to make them look any better. When you start adding doo-dads and gee-gaws, and bells and whistles like wings and spoilers and louvers and crap, you start to see the same effect as a beautiful woman wearing way to much makeup.
The '74-'79 'vettes can look good with a small wing in the back, because they don't already have a spoiler. But the '80-'82 'vettes already have a spoiler, and putting a spoiler on a spoiler will just look dumb. Kind of like wearing a belt and suspenders at the same time.
BTW, I google searched tangelo orange pearl, and I like it. Orange is one of those colors that people either love or hate, so if you like it, don't let the haters get to ya. And don't put a wing on your 'vette. and never trust a junkie, and always look both ways before you cross the street. That's about all you need to know.

Keep the shiny side up!

Scott
if you have a wing that will fit on 82 corvette pls let me know or pm me thank.
or email rzkas@yahoo.com
1) I doubt anyone here has tried either wing, so no one can tell you whether or not they fit.
2) If you want an bolt-on that will work on a Corvette, search the Corvette part suppliers, like Eckler's (http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corve...1980-1982.html) or Corvette America (http://www.corvetteamerica.com/cf/di...ategoryid=X540)

i think the harsh comments will save him from putting that hideous monstrosity on what will other wise be a very well liked car on this forum and in most places all together the 69 superbird is the only car that ever pulled off the hideous wing fad and made it look good
as for you rzkas if a wing is what you really want i think in the long run you will be happier with a turn down style rear bumper like the earlier c3s and then go with something like you see in the pic mrforce posted
the harsh comments are not personal attacks but humorous advise in your benefit that if listened to will save you allot of negative criticism when the car is finished

The reaction here on this forum is going to be more critical then a random sampling of people who will see your car, but you should know that there are going to be a lot of people who think it looks goofy and out of place and are more then willing to tell you about it. Just so you know....
Please note that most guys here are purists when it comes to the shapes and forms of the C3. I must admit that I'm in that catagory as well. I have no qualls about altering the stock suspension and engine in my '80. But the interior and exterior I'll leave as stock as possible. As far as I'm concerned the C3 body style is the ultimate in automobile design. And each year from '68 to '82 are beauties. Any non-stock appendage is just a distraction.
Good luck with the project.
And when it comes time to sell it and get a mini van, the trade in is going to be in the amount of a "fixed up" Honda prelude that a 17 year old drove to high school.
A guy in my neighborhood had 2 of them back in the day, to us kids it was cool, the avg consumer not so much.
To the OP, you're joking right?
He asked for opinions didn't he???
I could care less if he wraps it around a tree but he ask for opinions and hes getting them.

Kinda like the guys with the ricers and 20" wheels. They don't like my cars? I consider that a good sign.
