hi? which of these wings will fit or mount on a 82 corvette. it time for paint and i thinking to paint the car tangelo orange pearl.
what do you think about the color?
You guys are killing me. An individual comes to this site to ask a simple question and ALL of the opinions come out.
I'm being 100% honest...if there is ANY C3 Corvette that would look halfway's decent with a wing of this sort, it would be a 1982.
And if I CONTINUED to be 100% honest, if the car was being painted "Tangelo Orange Pearl", I would somewhat EXPECT to have this type of aftermarket paraphernalia attached.
Mr. Rzkas' question wasn't opinions about the usefulness of wings on maxi-pads. It was whether or not anyone could provide any insight on what would fit on his car.
To Mr. Rzkas: I'm not sure you'll get the feedback you need out of this particular site. As much as I appreciate your originality, this forum seems to tend toward keeping Corvettes "correct" rather than embelish them with wings of the sort you're speaking of. I apologize if you don't get the information you're looking for.
If I had any personal knowledge of what would help you, I would offer it. Alas, I'm not putting a wing on my 1970.
Keith, righteousness is not going to win this one. Look at it this way: we are possibly saving someone from doing something they will regret in a few years. No one who is interested in a classic corvette is ever going to want to buy that thing if the OP wants to sell.
I do agree that it his car , he should do with it as he pleases, dont understand the need for asking for opinions. If I wanted to do that to mine, the last folks I would ask would be a bunch of purists like us. BTW C4's actually have one for the hood
You're right so that means you don't want either one of those.
A '82 already has a spoiler built into the rear bumper. If you have to have something taller why not consider replacing the rear bumper with one that has a taller rear spoiler built into it?
Maybe something like this part number from the ACI site:
BCF020B - '80-'82 Style High Rise Rear Bumper
As far as the orange goes it's a popular color right now so for a custom if that's what you like you should be fine.
Well... rzkas, in the spirit of support and feedback, I'd say that the 49" GT spoiler would be your best bet. I'm not crazy about orange on any Corvette. A buddy of mine had an orange '76 and I never liked it. Just my opinion though.
Please note that most guys here are purists when it comes to the shapes and forms of the C3. I must admit that I'm in that catagory as well. I have no qualls about altering the stock suspension and engine in my '80. But the interior and exterior I'll leave as stock as possible. As far as I'm concerned the C3 body style is the ultimate in automobile design. And each year from '68 to '82 are beauties. Any non-stock appendage is just a distraction.

i think the harsh comments will save him from putting that hideous monstrosity on what will other wise be a very well liked car on this forum and in most places all together the 69 superbird is the only car that ever pulled off the hideous wing fad and made it look good
as for you rzkas if a wing is what you really want i think in the long run you will be happier with a turn down style rear bumper like the earlier c3s and then go with something like you see in the pic mrforce posted
the harsh comments are not personal attacks but humorous advise in your benefit that if listened to will save you allot of negative criticism when the car is finished
