Emblems
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Original urethane rear bumper covers had 3 holes (actually I think they were more like slots) in them, to attach the rear emblem. If the car has had a fiberglass rear bumper installed, there will be no holes in it, unless the installer put them in it.
The rear bumper Corvette emblem, was attached by 3 speed nuts. GM made ones have been discontinued about 6-8 years. The current repro sells for about $50. If you don't want to put holes in your bumper cover, you can remove the studs from the emblem, and install it with double sided trim tape.
82 nose and gas door emblems (except for Collector Edition ones) still come from Chevrolet, which is why the list price is around $100 each. The nose emblem is installed with double sided tape (supplied with the emblem), but it still has 2 short studs on it, to properly position it on the nose. The gas door emblem does not use tape, but instead is attached with two 1/4-20 acorn nuts.
The fender "Cross-Fire" emblems are also installed with double sided tape, and like the nose emblem, they also had studs on the back to position them on the fenders.
