i fixed two problems today.the first one on the side window was going back and forth and was woobly .that was a easy fix by tighting the bolts that hold the window to the channel ,wind noise fixed.the other problem was the door never opened verry good .you had to hold the door handle all the way down to get it to open .i reset the rod from the handle down to the door opener.it now opens like a new car.i also lubed all moving parts .both jobs took time but not a hard fix .and i got lucky both jobs were on the same door.it was a good friday .
A little bit of satisfaction goes a long ways when working on these old fickle trollops.
I just put the original spark plug wire sheathes on some new wires and installed them today. Timed it, and it runs a ton better.
I bought the 71 big block (mostly all original) car from a guy about 5 years ago. Then a couple of months later, I saw on ebay, the same guy was selling the original spark plug wires/sheathes. I bought them and stashed them. Just now got them on and I'm way pleased. The ones that were on the car when I bought it were orange.. I was almost ashamed to raise the hood for people.
