Ever consider that many of us '68 owners have not only " the biggest piece of crap to come off a GM production line" but a lowly small block as well and just aren't able to answer this question.

Hope that was a joke... The 68 had a few quality control problems, many of which must have been addressed by now. Some parts redesigned in following years. IMO something you often see for first years. Was the 63 problem free? The 84? The 68 is unique in many ways which adds interest....

I was being completely sarcastic.

I'm very happy with my '68 but then I also prefer a coupe so what do I know.
