I'm ready for new tires. I have noticed in some newer cars that they are running "staggered" tires. Has anybody ever tried or seen putting 225/70/15 on the front and 255/60/15's on the rear of a C3? Weigh in with your opinions and flame away!

I ran that exact combo on my '73 Roadrunner back in the late '80s-early '90s, they looked fine because they are the same diameter, the back tires are just a little wider. Unless you're talking about putting the 255s in front, that would look a little weird!
C3s look goofy with staggered sized wheels IMO.
These cars really look best with all 4 tires/wheels the same size.
Of course, I'm old and I like it factory
The only cars that look good staggered are the ones that came that way from the factory- Again, my opinion...

When I bought my 72 it came with "staggered" tires. LR60-15 rear and on 1 side of the front, is 245/60-15 the other 245/70-15. Hows that for staggered?
I still have them on the stock wheels, and use em to roll the chasis around the garage.
I like a staggered look, at least when both fronts match. But those LR60's are really too big for my tastes. They're 9" wide and really tall. But man did they fill out the stock wheel well.
I'm undecided on what I will eventually use myself, but 245/60-15 or 255/60-15 all around is on my short list, as I think the C3 is 1 car that looks awesome with all 4 tires the same size.
Now a days they are staggering the rims ,not the tires. 18" on back with 17" up front.Theres people on here that are running the staggered rims. Looks good both ways i think. Im old school, stuck in the late 60s
My answer to your original question.... cr@p. That 'staggered' look goes best with Hondas....
why place Hondas in the elite company with the 1970 Cudas and Challengers as they were the first cars with staggered tires and wheels...GM didn't have any until the 1984 Z-51 Vettes and with that option each wheel could not be moved to another position just as the Cudas.....
and I made my 68 Vette that way in 1969, and all my drag race cars were built that way...I subjectively like the stance and doing the Vette was a no brainer......
