Default Replacing Door Panel - 2 Questions?

Hi!

One - is is best to have the inside door opening handle already installed when putting the panel back on?

Two - does it matter which way the clip faces on the window crank?
(it can go two ways)

Thanks!

Usually you put the handle back on after the panel. The open end of the clip should face the arm of the crank.

You can fit the panel around the door handle in a have-to case, but it's easier with the handle removed.

Ya, I put the panel on 1st, and wound up using a tie wrap up at the lock end to hold the arm "open" enough to get a good angle to get the screw in the handle. Then I cut and extracted the tie wrap. Got the job done.

Door handle off......
You can put the clip on either way but, it's way easier to remove it with the opening towards the handle....

Why would you need to remove the release handle? Lock ****, yes... Release handle, not necessary.

And, yes, the clip on the lock **** only goes on one way. Well, it can be assembled the other way; but, then, it's a bit more difficult to remove.

i removed my lever but couldn't get it back on with the panel on, sure there is a way. I ended up leaving handle on inserting a long screw driver
in the opening in panel to hold it open while i slid the panel on.

Try it with a LITTLE bit of wear. You need a Plan-B

OK - I can see the window handle thing - but the lock **** looks symmetrical. What's the difference?

From what I remember (fuuuuzzzzyyy) the lock **** and shaft should have a blank spot with no spline that indexes the way it must go on.

The clip will fit both ways but if the loop is towards the armrest you can shimmy the door panel ahead a little and it's easier to get at the loop to pull on.
