i have bought some replacement trim ring clips for my original '72 trim rings,
same as these http://www.zip-corvette.com/_Images%5CBlobs%5CH-681.JPG
question is how do they come out of the rings?
are they held in in any way, or just pressed in hard?
have tried hitting them inwards the center of the ring, but it just dosent seem to want to come out.
I had to replace some a few years ago and it can be a PITA. If I recall, the clips are held in place by tangs. I have to pry them out enough to get the broken clip out. It was harder to bend the tangs back; somehow I managed to scratch the ring pretty good. Good luck.
Hi r au,
I believe the clips that are supplied loose are the type used on 75+ rings where there was a slot in the inner retainer ring for the clip's tangs to slide into.
The 68-74 clips were slightly diferent and spot welded in place. Much more problematic to repair.

Alan
