Default Rear View mirror.

Between the Corvettes, I've owned nothing but English cars and they all had the same affliction. The mirrors would fall off. Now that I have my 3rd '69 it's acting like a British Leyland product. The mirror literally fell off. I have a new one on the way but for now I have a cheapo glass mounted RV and kinda like it. Picture is posted but please disregard the garage background. The whiffle ball keeps me from running into lawn mower stuff.

Hi s,
I can understand having the mirror 'flop'.... but not fall off. It's screwed into place.
Do you have the right mounting hardware and clamp for a 69?
Regards,
Alan

Hi Alan. Yes it's the original mirror and hardware. Both screws holding things together lost their thread. The headliner screw hole is okay but it's male counter part is not. The screw as well as it's hole that holds the ball joint are both toast. I guess 43 years of convertible shake does that to old things. I'm not complaining tho. Life is good.
