Default Interior installation order

Right now I'm in the middle of putting down sound deadening material. My question is what is the best order of sequence when putting in the front upper/lower dash and center console? Can I put in the dash + left and right lower pad first with the gauge cluster in first and then later put in the lower center console? Or does the lower center console need to be the first item in?

I did mine this way

Upper dash
drivers lower dash
steering column
shift console
gauge cluster
pass side lower dash
e-brake console

Just remember that stupid bolt at the back of the e-brake console needs to be in before the storage compartment stuff Arrrrrggggggg

Hi SL,
I followed Mooser's sequence too!
You CAN NOT BE TOO CAREFUL with the center guage cluster. The top third of the bezel will break off in an instant if you put too much pressure on it. AND, you can't tell when you're getting close... it just pops. So don't push or pull on it at all.
Regards,
Alan

Hi, I just remembered.... be sure to get the radio in place while you'e working on the gauge bezel and shifter console. Its possible to do it later, but it's more difficult.

Hi Mooser,
You CAN reach the bolt with a 1/4" drive socket by reaching through from the jack compartment. Really!

Alan

The pivot-end ratchet wrench are my current favorite, but when I remember to do it first (not often) I can actually use my hand to start it and hardly any curse words...

Mine was broke on one side when I bought the car, took a long time but I finally found a decent way to fix it.
Hopefully you'll never need to know.

I put the bolt in the nut jammed it on pretty tight, then cut the head of the bolt off, ground it to a nice smooth round end, and it is now just a pin....that slips into the hole so I don't have to access it from the back side at all....slips in,,, slips out....
Another one of those things they should have engineered it that way to start with....but, then they wouldn't have sold as many e-brake consoles because they wouldn't have been tearing them up.

I did mine similar, but put the upper dash pad in after the drivers side lower one. Made connecting the light switch a bit easier.
