In the 75 AIM on page 115 it shows 3 round braces going from dash area to trans tunnel on pass side and 2 on the drivers side. The AIM shows there to be a bracket with stud spot welded to this hole. I don't have any of these braces and don't see any of the mounting points. Am I missing something? Thanks Dave.
Well, I think I found the answer. On the bottom of page 115 it shows that these braces are for model 1YZ67 which is a convertible. The coupe is 1YZ37. Thanks for the help. Dave.

Yep, convertibles only. FWIW, if you'll look closely you'll see a 4th brace to the left. Believe they'd likely further strengthen a coupe against cowl shake/flex, tho quite a task to add, but have given up (for now, at least) trying to acquire the parts to make a complete setup.
I think you will find they are for the convertible.
Hey Paul... is your car a factory AC car? Wondering if the upper brace is different from 69 due to the AC. I am going to install a VintageAir unit (my car was not factory AC) and they say to discard one of the braces.
I will be fabbing up a new brace so as to keep it in place but was curious if your upper brace is different than mine.
It also seems from your AIM you have a "bolt plate (item5)" in the upper passenger side outer locations whereas the 69 just has holes.

Yeah... the upper brace definitely seems to have more bends in it than mine does.
Thanks Paul.
Yes it does have a couple of bends to clear the ductwork. Sorry I do not have better pics but the heater core job went well and I do not wish to do that disassembly again.
Dave, your question has been answered, but just wanted to say I like your picture, through the AC hole right up to the nose with nothing in between.
