I got the oil changed on the Wifemobile this am at Pepboys.
Was talking about getting some 255 X 60 X 15 tires for the C3.
Manager told me that P'boys is closing out the 255 X 60 X 15 Cooper, Futura tires and I could get four balanced, mounted, front end aligned for under 500.00.
I had been looking at the MT's from Summit, but this sounds like a decent deal, especially if you throw in the 10% discount we can all get on the Coopers.
You might want to check the manufacturing date (molded into the tire in the 'fine print' at the rim) to make sure those tires aren't "old stock". I think a store can't sell tires as "new" unless they were manufactured within the last 12 months or so (maybe 18). Tires age, just due to time...whether they are in use or not.
There really isn't much of a difference between the 15" tires available for our Corvettes. The Coopers, BFG, Mickey Thompsons, Firestones, etc. are all antiquated tires. I just go with who has the best deal for the size I need.
