The car had a complete color change inside and out many years ago. Paint and interior in nice shape. Base interior with deluxe door panels and console. A/C, PW, PS, tilt/tele, auto. All gauges and alarm work.
The car needs a heater core (failed and bypassed), and that A/C compressor has a slow leak.
Nice drive train and good frame. Comes with hard and soft tops.
Pretty car. I would try for $8K-10 depending on originality and paint condition close-up. Keep in mind the '75 was lowest HP Vette ever made (excluding C1's).
Has L82 valve covers- check the vin to indicate which engine.
You don't indicate your location in your profile- you may want to add it - some forum members might know the car and provide feedback.
But the greater issue is that the engine bay shots would seem to indicate a fair about of surface rust- be sure an examine the frame and pillars around the windshield base for rust- that can be the deal killer IMO.Also, what's the story with the side exhaust bu regular exhaust manifolds - seems odd?
Absent info on where the car is located and the condition of the frame- I'd agree, no more than $10k. What are they asking ?
Hi,
Just my thoughts....
The engine compartment pictures look like they're from a different car than the exterior and interior pictures.
Does that matter.... NO..... but????

Alan
You guys are making my day, but he's asking $13k. I thought that was a tad high until I learned it was a color change and the HVAC issues. The car runs strong (cam), no smoke, no overheat, fires up cleanly, brakes, shifts, rides and steers properly. Both tops are in very good condition. Body paint is a 8.5 due to a couple of chips that were dabbed with touch up, and the rear end cap is a fiberglas replacement that has some paint sags.
If this car were perfect and the right color, where would you guys peg it?
I might give him his asking price, but he'd really have to win me over. If you can afford it, and really want the car.....wave ten grand in his face and see if he bites. Not a penny more....maybe he says, "get stuffed", but leave your number and walk.
In this economy, money talks......who knows his particular situation. Maybe he's got a balloon payment coming due next month? The worst thing is you don't get this one. But if he says yes..........
if replacing the heater core is anything like it was replacing the core in my '82 your looking at a rough day if not two of work. and you better be a small guy. I am 5'4 and could just barely maneuver in my car upside to get the new element in and installed even with the dash pulled out. And if you pay someone to replace that heater core I'm gonna gamble that to be a 6-10 hour job, plus I guarantee some sort of trim piece will get cracked/broken. just my 2 cents

Yeah all that surface rust has me thinking it was sitting outside for a looong time. For 13K you're almost in the chrome bumper C3. For 15K I picked up a gorgeous, original well-cared for 1969 Coupe. See my garage for the car...

Good catch Alan.
The car has sidepipes in the top picture and the engine pictures have exhaust manifolds. "Fake" sidepipes maybe?
I'm going to take the other side on this. I realize it's a convertible but.......a color change outside and inside, needs a heater core (a killer job), the A/C doesn't work and you know up front the compressor is leaking, there is lots of surface rust under the hood, and that's for starters. If you have any goal of making this car more than a driver you will be upside down in this car before you are anywhere near done even at 10K. This has been a buyer's market for a while especially with cash in your hand. While prices to buy have come down prices to restore have not.
Good luck in what ever you choose to do.
I learned today that the car sold on Sunday for $13k. The side pipes were attached with a single pipe to the stock manifold. Sounded very nice, but you could consider them "fake," since only one of the cluster was attached.
Having heard, seen, driven and smelled the car, I still think it was a decent buy. The frame was fine and the car only had 57k on it.
Are the hard tops still selling for $2k? Both it and the soft top were in great condition, and I would have been tempted to sell the hard top at Carlisle rather than have it sit in my garage.
Despite all the negs you got, that car would go for close to 15 here, pretty easily.
It is a convertible with a/c and both tops, those are the biggies.
Only thing I see missing is the smog. Gotta know when to lowball.

It sold for $13K as fact or you were TOLD it sold for $13K from the seller? There's great deals everyday and that car wasn't a great deal judging from all the surface rust and other things you knew about. Fear not, great deals to be had everyday!
If it had been worth $13k to me, I would have bought it. Thanks too all who chimed in. Much appreciated.
I sense no matter what we say, you regret not making the purchase. I more than anyone knows what it's like to get wrapped up in the beauty of the car sitting in front of me and dreaming of it's real potential. But in the end you must ask yourself "Is the juice worth the squeeze"?
It has to be a good deal that makes sense too. (Besides I doubt it really sold for $13k...)
Take advantage of the buyer's market right now.
