Default Lexan window tint insert

Has anyone on the forum seen or had any experience with these lexan tint inserts?

Did you happen to read the installation instructions? Says not install or remove in hot sunlight because the lexan shield might burn your hands. Doesn't sound like a product meant to keep your car cooler. Why not just get your windows tinted?

Yep, I have one in my car for about 5 years now and love it. Take the trip out around the back of the window and the trim that goes across the center beam above your head. Clean the window and insert real good. Bend it in the middle by grabbing the sides and pulling together and it fits right in. No trimming or grinding necessary.

You can slid it in with out taking the trim off the top above your head but you may scratch it. While you have the trim out make sure you paint it.

Thanks dgood, Ive been looking at them for the past two summers but couldnt find anyone who actually had one. Seems like you are well satisfied with it, just what I needed to know.

If you have tinted your rear window - do not buy. Bad effect between two tinted items.

It will probably rattle if you have other than stock, quiet mufflers.

Had one. Sold it after a year. Good riddance. Worse $ I spent, and I tend to buy all the neat tricks.

It will darken window but do NOTHING regarding cuttin down heat gain, etc.

Just pay for a rear window tint. Same price or less.

Everybody else just justifying a purchase mistake.
