Default New to Maryland

Hey guys,

I moved from Indiana to Glen Burnie, MD this week. I wanted to see who is around. Are there any corvette clubs in the area?

Thanks.

Not sure about the car clubs in your area.. BUT being in Maryland, you should be close enough to Atlantic City, NJ to take a ride to the Kerbeck Toys for Tots run held in early October.

It's a great time and a great cause. Hundreds maybe even thousands of Corvettes from all generations and conditions.

Hope to see you there.

Good luck with the search for a club

I got an 11k mile 82 Garage queen (so i luv ur avitar) &a 400rwh C5 near 75-80. Free State is a big? club on your side (695 not 495).
Burtonsville has a Sun am cruise in supposed to be nice. Ileft my last club cause their motto was "No Trailer Queens" and they didnt like my POS Slow BONEAZZORIG 82 for what it was. I wouldnt take it on a 100 mile round trip in the rain to eat pizza at some Shthole. Dont have any other clubs to recommend @ this time.
But if you pull your C3 in my driveway i got one to put nxt 2it & Ill buy the Heinekin?

Corvettes @ Carlisle next weekend. You are in day driving range. Don't miss it! Burtonsville is a nice cruise in. Lots of different cars to look at. Fall cruise in Ocean City MD. Couple hours away. ~ 6000 hot rods on display. 4000 more just cruising. That is Oct 4-7. There's a mall in glen burnie that has a cruise on Sat nights that is supposed to be huge. Never been to that one.

Gathersburg has The Corvette club of America as well as the G-Berg Corvette club (only about a half hour drive, There is also a Baltimore Corvette club and the host club for the Corvette weekend in OC (Oct 13-14 I think) this year is the Free Stare Corvette club located in Baltimore...

Funny but my clubs ( Frederick County Corvette Club) motto just happens to be "No Trailer Queens".. and heck I own a slow 76 and a 79 ( in addition to a 64 72 88 (also slow) and 98 ..

Most of us drive up and back to Carlisle every day...the best part of the day is the drive up and back..(its only 70 miles from Frederick) nice drive especially before Mt Holly where the road dips and raises so at more then a few places you can only see the sky when looking out the windshield

Hi Nelson,
On the grounds Corvette parking is through gate #1.
It's at the intersection of Clay and G streets.
Regards,
Alan

Come on up to Westminster one day. I'll show you around.
XCCter knows some folks down in Annapolis, closer to you than I am. They have some shows and events there, too. See you at Carlisle? Since you are this close, all Corvette pilgrims should make the journey!

Corvette Club of America, NCCC#1 is in G'burg, my old vette club of some 15+ years ago, no other club I know of comes close....

sponsored by Criswell Chevy....they come up on addy's here too....

you gotta go a LONG wasy to beat shop nights, at the dealership and other perks they had going for them....I suspect that relationship still continues today....

I would love to do nothing else but take you up on your offer. Unfortunately, the Corvette is still in Indiana. I moved to an apartment here and even though it is not a garage queen I could not bare leaving it out in the weather every day. Plus, drive the uhaul while pulling the daily driver was already a lot.

I suspect I won't have it for about a year. But I would still like to get acquainted with the clubs and people around here.

I did a search on here but couldn't find any Maryland groups for corvette owners. Am I searching in the wrong search box?

Finally figured out the weekly car show in Glen Burnie. Its called lost in the 50s. So its not just a corvette club, but a classics / hotrod club. Still pretty cool. Next weekend Patriotic show. Suppose to be huge and really exciting.

I will be going. Let me know if anyone is going. I would love to meet other forum members.

Methinks you need go to the National Council of Corvette Clubs site, surely they have one, and there find

Corvette Club of America....Gaithersburg Md.....at least it WAS in G'burg 15 years ago....maybe do a google on the club directly....they HAVE to have a web site, I would assume....

did the search myself.....here you go..... http://www.corvetteclubofamerica.org/

OH, and a word about Tony's Corvette shop.....he and the operation are good folks, they know what they do.....and it's right....that's my old vette club, and I used to know Tony back when I was a member there.....

Not a corvette club but I'm a member of Street Survivors of MD. Great club with no crazy rules. No mandatory attendance at meetings or shows. We hang out Friday nights at glen burnie mall behind HHGreg by toys r us. Great group of down to earth people. Will meet up and drive to other shows and events as well.

Ocean city show is definitely a must attend. I'll be down there for that one

Two of the bigger and more active Maryland clubs, are the Free State Corvette Club, and the Corvette Club of America.

The Free State Corvette Club is based in the Baltimore area. The last I heard, they were meeting somewhere west of the city, maybe not far from you. Free State hosts a fantastic Corvette weekend, in Ocean City MD every October. www.freestatecorvette.com

The world's oldest Corvette club, Corvette Club of America, is based in the Rockville area, about an hour from Glen Burnie. www.corvetteclubofamerica.org

A little further from you, there is Corvette Annapolis, who just had their annual show yesterday (9-16-12).

There are also 2 NCRS clubs in Maryland, the Mason-Dixon Chapter, which is active in the Baltimore area and the Mid-Atlantic Chapter, which is based in the far western part of the state.

I'm sure if you Google Maryland Corvette Clubs, or something similar, you'll turn up lots of others.

Cars and Coffee Annapolis on Sunday mornings.

Two locations:
8-10 @ Baltimore Coffe and Tea on Bestgate Road by the mall
9-11 @ Annapolis City Dock (by the Nava Academy). This one can be overcome by events (boat shows).

Just off the Top of my head...the following Corvette clubs are in Maryland

B-Triple-C /based in Baltimore
Shore Corvettes /based in Salisbury
Annapolis / based in Annapolis
Southern Maryland CC /...in the deep south lol
G-Berg (based in Gaithersburg
Corvette Club of America / also based in Gaithersburg
Belair Corvette Club/ Belair Md
Free State / Based in Baltimore
Mason Dixon Corvette Club / based in Hagerstown
and My club..the Frederick County corvette club

NOT all of them (including mine) are affiliated with the N triple C

Not sure if Belair or the Southern Maryland Clubs are still active..all the other definitely are...

Don't park your Corvette (overnight) outside at any appartment complex in Glen Burnie if you care about it....... Ask me how I know !!
