Did SHARK QUARTERLY ever have any articles on the development of the 68 corvette? I would love to buy any old issues with articles on the 68 corvette, or copies. Lou.

I recently let my Vette subscription lapse. When they merged with Corvette Fever, they got rid of the wrong editor. I got tired of needing a thesaurus and a dictionary just to follow one of the pretentious editorials.

It makes we wonder why the Porsche marque can support several magazines while the Corvette marque is down to two. I think it's because for the most part the editorial content is better and the articles are much more deversified. At least that's how it appears to me. I take the time to scan through the Porsche magazines just about every month and I find late model road tests, performance upgrades, hot rods and clones, and classic articles. They just seem to me to do a better job of having something for everybody in every issue. The Corvette magazines try to do the same thing but I think the Porsche magazines are more entertaining but maybe that's because I don't own a Porsche.

I am quite astute with the English language but this clown just likes to use words because he has the floor, I have a two year subscription to Vette but at this time I won't be renewing it, if I see one more article about a resto mod I will vomit, kudos to these guys that take a basket case and turn it into a hybrid show car but its not what I want from the hobby nor can I afford such nonsense. I do not want to read about corvette racings latest antics either, I dont give a movement. What I do want is lots of useful articles that will assist me in keeping my car on the road for the lowest possible price and tell me about the products that work, not the ones that spend the most advertising in your magazine..... sheesh, I could spend all day on this soap box but that's enough, I don't think the mag is going to change anytime soon and the best part is I still have all my mags from 1996 to now so I have a good reference library from previous, more skilled writers concerned with our hobby not wordsmiths feeding an ever present ego.

cheers, Dennis.

I'm on the fence as well but will probably renew for the toilet reading material.

I have plastic tubs full of Corvette magazines from 1988 to present. Keepin Track of vettes, Corvette Fever, Vette, Corvette Enthusieast, Chvey Corvette Trader, Hemmings, NCRS, etc etc etc.

I'm sure glad to see that I'm not the only Corvette fan who was very disappointed when Corvette Fever was killed off. When they killed it, I had about six months of Vette remaining on my subscription. I thought Vette was very inferior to Corvette Fever and let my subscription lapse.

When they killed Corvette Fever and replaced it with Vette, they got rid of the wrong editor, and the mostly the wrong contributors. The C32 articles they do print are just thrown together. One concerning distributors and advance curves had a photo of a rusted piece of junk to show how the weights worked. Very cheesy.

Vette is owned by Source Interlink Media which owns almost all the motorsports mags. In addition to Vette, they own Motor (Moron) Trend, Hot Rod, Automobile, and the list goes on. They are all scrambling for subscribers; free subscriptions are common. I subscribe to Hot Rod, and it's OK, but most of Interlink's mags are just crap. I recently cancelled a free subscription to Motor Trend, couldn't stand reading their crap.

If this forum goes away, I'll really go through withdrawals.

Looks like they need subscribers with a Holiday Hail Mary sales pitch:

I haven't enjoyed Vette Magazine since D. Randy Riggs left years ago. Most of the people that write for it have never owned a Corvette and were writing about foreign stuff before they came aboard. I let my subscription lapse a couple of years ago. With the state of magazines you always run the risk of having it morph into something you didn't sign up for as one of the other corvette magazines did not too long ago.

I was a subscriber of Corvette fever and Vette magazine, but after a while the piles of magazines become unmanageable and felt uneasy about throwing them away.

I let the subscription run out about a year ago, but I missed the monthly anticipation of a new magazine coming through the letter box.
However, I have just renewed my subscription, but this time it is Electronic (an app on my I pad/i phone....)

I LOVE IT!! No more piles of magazines.

As to the context, my first online Vette magazine issue has an article about L88, beautiful C2 (resto mod with LS9 engine), lovely custom C1, another L88 (yellow convertible)...... How to C4 article, C5 and C6 ....

Really enjoyed the magazine and already looking forward to the next issue.

No more piles of old magazines and always at my finger tip with my phone or tablet.

All the best

No, but the Vette is jealous as hell when I drive the Porsche. For some strange reason whenever I go to take it out after using the 944 to run an errand the battery will be dead and the radio will quit after I get it started and go down the road. Fuses are ok but it seems like it's saying "You've been with that other car so suffer for awhile".

There are some really nice writeups in the February issue about a '69 L88, a '63 split window LS9, and a '61 that's been modified a tad. I get it along with Corvette Magazine each month at my local Chapters. It's only 15 bucks a month and I read them at work and in the reading room at home. They get their usage.. (I also have a C5 for that content. )

Corvette Magazine, Corvette fever and the rest of the mags have moved away from us and the C1,C2 crowd really don't have much either.

The writers have no idea what C1/C2/C3 users want to see.
