Upper radiator hose drip... HELP!

Upper radiator hose drip... HELP!
Ok...
My upper hose where it connects to the radiator... it drips from under the hose right where it connects to the upper radiator... I'm talking maybe the size of a quarter a night. I went out a bought a new hose, cleaned all the connections, installed the hose... same thing, the drip... I removed the hose and took fine steel wool and really cleaned it nice, so nice the brass now shines... same thing, that drip!!!!..
Is there anything i can use between the hose and radiator neck to stop this?
Has to be something... help me out here.. Thank You!!

Hi r70s,
I'm thinking the same thing as Mike.
Just maybe a pin hole in the solder connection from the neck to the radiator.
Could you tape a small piece of paper towel to the neck to see if where it gets wet would give you a clue to where the leak is?

I did think of that option.... so i did pull the hose back and watched it with an inspection mirror. I kinda feel the brass isnt truely round and there maybe some hills and valleys, the rad is over 42 years old.

You guys were right, i wasnt sure so i backed off the hose to the max and saw it...
now.... a new rad isnt in the cards now, or having someone remove and repair it... Anyway to seal off the inlet/radiator connection?

I would be very careful when it comes to any resoldering attempts on the radiator outlet neck. Generally you'll wind up with a bigger mess than what you started with. Just because it has a minor leak does not necessarily mean you should buy a new radiator. Why don't don't you remove it, take it to a radiator repair shop and let them fix it? They can fix the leak, clean and pressure test it and paint it for you.

I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach many years ago and had that same problem. The owner of the motel we stayed at set us up with a radiator shop and they fixed it FOR FREE. I'm pretty sure they didn't pull the radiator and fix it FOR FREE.
