I understand that 69's originally equipped with factory side exhaust had a spacer underneath the trans mount. How thick was it? Obviously it raised the trans/tilted the engine slightly. Why was it needed? Did it go between the trans and the rubber mount, or between the rubber mount and the crossmember?
Hi Rick,
My understanding is that the spacer is used to fill the gap created between the transmission and transmission mount when the center exhaust bracket is removed because it's no longer needed with the side-exhaust.
That being said....I've also read that St.Louis didn't use the spacer; so? It seems that the spacer would make sense.
