The Corvette America posts have those plastic locking pads (sorta like giant Velcro), but they don't mesh well with the original pads. Also, the pads on the C.A. posts are about 1/8" away from meshing with the original pillar pads . C.A. has known about this for years but refuses to do anything about it because they are the only game in town. I ended up drilling the original pads off the factory posts, put a plastic shim under that pad, and Pop-riveted the shim and 'old' pad to the new post. Then, it snapped in fine. What a PITA to install a "new" part!

If you look at the "*****" at the end of the "stems" of the Corvette America
Velcro pad the ***** are too small of a diameter compared tot he GM ones. Even swapping some GM ones on wont solve the problem because the metal base plate is further away than the GM base. My solution, stack some double sided foam tape behind the pillars to glue the posts into place. Same thing for their $500 door panels, they SUCK!
