So it's time to replace the carpeting in my '69 coupe after the oil pressure gauge line ruptured and soaked the carpet with oil. Have read a number of positive comments here about Al Knock products. Care to share your experiences with various carpeting providers? Also, did you replace the carpeting yourself or have it installed by a shop? I am going to do the full set even though the rear carpet was not damaged and is still in pretty good condition.
Hi 55p,
I used Knock carpet. It's very good quality.
It really is a job you can do yourself if you want to.
The rear wheel wheels take the most work. The installation of the rest of the rear pieces is pretty straight forward.
The front pieces will take some fitting and trimming, but aren't a bad job.
The carpet WILL need to be trimmed to fit. Measure several times and cut only a small bit at a time. Continue to trial fit as you trim. It takes a lot of extra time this way, but a mis-cut isn't very nice.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
I used Corvette America on my 73, price and quality was excellent. You would be more satisfied when change the front and rear with new, rather than just the one, IMHO.
