Default Tires u are using

What's a good tire that you guys are using ? I love the big white lettering on the walls, what do you recommend for dry rain weather ?
I have coppers on it right now they were on the car when I bought it. They have the white line around them no lettering and I really do hate themm

It's more important to know "how" you use them. If just for normal driving, BFG T/A Radials (or other 15" tires that are still available) are fine. If you are into 'spirited' driving, you probably would do better to go to 17 or 18" rims and some good driving tires.

Usage determines what you should buy. I run 15" BFG T/As on the street (they do a superb job of keeping the frame from scraping the pavement), and Hoosier and Nitto tires for track use.
It's impossible to find a tire that is excellent everywhere and in every weather condition.

I've been reading about the bfg t/a some good and bad reviews but I see a lot of vette owners use them. Sounds like some people love them and some hate them lol

I run BFG 255-60-15 all around on the road, those are well behaving stock type tires wich under normal circumstances funktions OK both on the wet and dry.

I like the classic look with rised white letters and lots of rubber/high profile.

However they can not match a R-compound tyre when going a bit harder on a track.

I run 255-50-16 Toyo Proxes R-888 on the track and these tyres gives a realy god grip/confidence both when wet and when dry.
Those Toyo tyres are roadlegal but dont have the rised white letters.

So if only for the looks and for street driving i would go for the BFG's.

I have no experience at all of what to chose if you want to go 1/4 mile racing.

That's what I have. When I bought these, the H-rated tires were only available in black letter, ie no raised white letters.

Bummer on the "no RWL" tires. Beautiful car, BTW. But, your car would look great with thin w/w tires and a set of P02 covers. I had an International Blue '68 coupe (SB, unfortunately) with that set up and it had that classic early C3 look to it.

Cooper Cobras 235/60/15. I have them on my '86 el Camino also and have no complaints. Large white lettering and good, quite tread design.

I can't find them anywhere and the manufacture says they have been discontinued. I was looking for 225/70R15. Where did you purchase the Firehawks and what size?

I bought the Mickey Thompson STs for the front of my 69 this spring. I got their ET Street Drag Radials for the back, but that's not necessary for most guys. Your link was part of a fair amount of research I did before deciding to get the STs and I'm real happy with them. They have a surprising amount of grip, as I confirmed a couple days ago while driving through a series of curves at a pretty spirited clip.

By the way, that's a great looking Vette. I was in Kona for Thanksgiving last year and I wish I could have seen it.
