According to my Vin my '81 was built in St. Louis, and according to my trim tag it was a 2 tone car. 50E and 74E are the colors on the trim tag. The car also has the power seat.

One other difference in Bowling Green cars is they had the power seat option available. I've never heard of anyone having this option in a St Louis car.
In another thread, EasyMike posted a link to photos taken inside the St. Louis plant....
That series of photographs has been floating around the internet for a long time. At one time, someone was trying to sell them through eBay. It is St. Louis. Frame stencil dates confirm 1981 production. Speculation has always surrounded who took the pics. The assembly line appears to be stopped and there are no human beings in any of the photos.

This car sure looks two-toned to me:
This (center row) looks like the rear bumper cover for it:

In another thread, EasyMike posted a link to photos taken inside the St. Louis plant. Interestingly enough, the title of the gallery is "1981 Corvette Assembly in St. Louis", and one of the pics shows a two-tone moving through the line:
...Holy begeezes!!!! I think that's my 1980 two-tone!!!!...
Sorry. Wrong production year. The internet photos are for 1981 production at St. Louis. The first owner of your car was, in all likelihood, already driving and enjoying your car by the time the pics were taken.
