How in the world do you get that off? I removed the screws on the side but there is something else holding it

Yep! There is on more bolt in the back of the console. You get access through the center storage compartment. PITA!!

Roger that, thanks John! Good thing I need to put new storage compartment doors and what not in too so I won't feel so bad if I destroy the storage compartment, I think it's just cardboard anyway..

Once you get the center compartment out, you can reach in and feel the head of the bolt. Getting it out is easier than getting it back in.

One member here posted a different method of installing the E-brake console. He put a bolt from the underside of the console. Then just guided the bolt thru that hole and put a nut on it. Beats the heck out of trying to blindly line up the bolt with the console.

That was the hardest part of the interior re-installation for me. New carpet, reflectix, and LizardSkin added to the problems, making the holes not want to line up.

I wish I had thought of this idea when I was puting mine back in. That would have been much easier.

Hi AS,
You don't need to take the center compartment out.
You can reach the bolt by working from the jack compartment. Just lift the storage tray out. You use a 1/4" drive socket wrench. You reach along the rear side of the seat bulkhead about 12" or a little less.
Not bad at all once you do it the first time.
Regards,
Alan

Here's the position of the hole the bolt comes through on it's way to the e-brake console.

I haven`t got that far yet, but my plan is to find some screws that fit those holes, then cut the heads off, and screw them in by hand. This will, in effect leave a stud sticking up that hopefully I can push the carpet down over. Once the carpet is in, I`ll just remove the studs, and bolt in the tie downs.

Hi ogto,
The 2 plates that receive the rear ''footman's loops" are accessible in the wheel wells. Once the carpet is in place stick a needle up through the plates and you'll see where each screw goes.
The loop on the seat bulkhead is more difficult. I used a needle from the carpet side and 'felt' for the holes knowing 'about' where they were.
Regards,
Alan

I love my test light

Won't be ready to start with the dash until I get all the pieces for it, no sense in pulling it apart until I have everything and it's warm enough here in the winter so I can continue driving as long as it's not raining that is. I hope that I can have everything I need bought before it gets too hot this spring but I do have lots of other mechanical things to get to. I have a brand new motor in it next is suspension (and maybe a dash piece bought here and there).

Thanks for the help and words of encouragement
