Default whaddya think?

there is a remote possibility that i may be trading my c3 for a 911. so i may be looking for a replacement project c3.. a chrome bumper car would be ideal but out of my price range.
however i have found this 77 fairly close to me. 100 miles.owners are asking 2500.00. i called about this car over a year ago and it was 2500 then also. . it needs an automatic transmission and a fan shroud to get it running down the road.so ive been told. it has a really funky crushed velvet diamond tuck interior. groovy! actually i kinda like that,. i was told it was an l82. i have not yet personally inspected it. i may go look this weekend. provided the rust isnt too severe, and its not too badly butchered, i might make an offer. at 1500.00 would i be insulting the guy? im not out to beat anybody down but i figure its been for sale for a very long time at 2500 and no one has bought it in the last year. the ad did disappear for a few months though. im not sure if i like the headlites or not....but for the right price i could live with them.

I dont know how the car market is around where you are from, but here in dfw, any c3 in the $1000 to $2,500 range are gone within days. To me, when I hear of a car that is priced at $2,500 and is for sale for a year, I wonder how many people have walked away from the car. Just a thought, but hey it might be an awesome deal. Have any more pics?

no sorry thats the only one he sent me. i had some pictures on my phone from a year ago but they have since been deleted. and i am wondering why after a year it is still for sale. could be the economy and the lack of disposable income in my area. but you would be surprised a c3 would go for in my area. a few weeks ago there was a 78 that had been sitting for 10 years for 1600.00, it was on cl for 2 weeks before it sold. a very nice driver for 4500.00 to 5000.00 ( or less) is not unheard of around here. if the deal goes down on the porsche im definitely going to be searching for another c3

Be sure to check the frame, etc. if it has been sitting in that high grass for a while!

OK you know the car has been for sale for a long time. Go look at it and decide for yourself if you are interested. If you are interested and you feel making an offer could insult the owner rather than taking that risk ask him what's the bottom line? That will usually open up the possibility to negociate because you will know right then and there if the price is firm. Or you can not be concerned with insulting the owner and just say I know your sale price is $2500 but the car is only worth (what ever) to me. On the other hand you could also decide after inspecting it the car is worthless and that's why it's been for sale for over a year. Good luck on what ever you decide.
