Dear Bubba, please explain what is this switch. I'm afraid to touch it.

As you all know, Bubba lives down in this neck of the woods. I called him; and he said that "the lever thingy" was just laying around and he needed a better way to hold onto that cable. So, you see, it's not really being used as a switch....it's merely a 'handle'.

Under the drivers dash near the fuse box. You can see the unattached trip odometer cable in the pic.

All kidding aside, it appears to have been piggybacked to an inline fuse holder. Try turning it off and see what accessory no longer works?

Bubba don't need no stinking fuse, the wire can be a fuse.

That switch puts power to the dipstick nearby. Prevents people from checking the oil and telling Bubba that it needs to be changed.

When switched the correct direction, it probably grounds the points. This was a popular "anti-theft" device, in the 60's & 70's.
