I have option #1 and like it so far. Had option #2 but with my new carb it wouldn't fit because it was hitting the throttle cable holder...

Here are some pics before final clean up.. If you have access to a tig welder will be much easier and nicer..I used mig with spool gun. None of the welding is visible.. Name:  Picture 157.jpg

Just bought this last night. Putting it on my 75 Vette 350cid L48. Looked good on my 58, a bit close on hood clearance tho.

This is mine. The base plate does not need any holes cut or any other mod. Its sitting on top of a Holley 4150 DP/Weiand Team G intake under the stock hood.

The carb height of the Team G is lower than the yours so probably not. But that's why I went with the Team G single plane. Works great.

Looks good. These type of filters really look good because you can actually see the carb and intake.
