I believe the original inner felts that were attached to the trim panel were stapled into place using quite a large gauge staple.
I believe you may be able to get them off using a needle nose pliers and a very small straight bladed screwdriver.
I'll be interested in hearing about your success since it's very rare that anyone has good results re-skinning the trim panels.
I believe 7T1 did it but says he'd never do it again.

I re-skined my door panels and replaced the inner felts yesterday. I think it turned out pretty good, but not perfect. Didn't use any glue except on the carpet.
My inner felts were attached with five screws and the new went back that way. Very easy.
