Hi sb2,
I agree with RS that some pictures of the VIN plate, trim tag, and engine pad, would certainly help knowledgeable people understand the car you're looking at.
I sure wish you last comment was 'lots of documentation'... not "no records anywhere" !!
Merry Christmas!
Regards,
Alan

If that is the VIN on the car, it is a made up number and most likely a stolen car.

No such thing. Who are the "some" saying this car was special built?

Pass on this one. It's bogus. The VIN you list has too many digits. If memory serves, 3 was the car line series code for Chevelles or Camaros. Code was a 1 for all 1971 Corvettes. A consecutive unit number of 80790 is four times too high to be a Corvette number.

There were no LS7 Corvettes.

Probably a tag 'made-up' by the restorer....along with the story that is designed to make the car more valuable. Bogus. Hope you didn't get taken to the cleaners.

the 194371s is corvette the last 6 digits 100001 to 121801 is the prduction off of assembly the 194371s380790 believe was a special vin# used on test models only for that year

My advice would be to determine when and how the 380790 showed up for this car. It is not a Corvette number.

Have you checked the vehicle certification label on the door? If it's still there, it will list the VIN assigned at St. Louis.

test models? If it was a 1968 corvette, I would be more believing of this. Did they really make a test model between '70 and '71? Kinda doubt it
