Default Wire connector info needed

I need to replace the wire connector on my starter harness for my 80. The wire is pulling out of the connector and needs to be replaced. While I am at it I want to shorten the harnes. I do not want to cut the wire and use crimp connectors to connect it or soldier it. I want to use a new connector and the terminals that go with it. Where can I by just the connector.

Although I have not tried them, this company has been mentioned by other forum members:

http://www.repairconnector.com/

Good luck.

Be aware, some of that sloppy looking stuff on the starter are the fuse links. They are there to protect the wire harness in case of a dead short somewhere

Yes I am aware what fusible links are. 15 years as a Ford and GM tech. 40 years working on and building race cars, hot rods and vettes.
I just want to shorten up some wire and can't seem to find the connector that I want to do the job. I want a connector like the one that is there so I can shorten up the wires and make it look stock.

Not 100% sure of the terminals you need, but likely a Sta-Con type crimp on connector. Most NAPA's probably have these. If you're doing a lot of this, check the Waytek Wire site, for just about anything wiring. Also, if your getting a crimp tool, get a good one like a Klein, that puts a dent in the connector.

I hope you don't mean those black plastic cylinders on the wire. Those are parts of the fusible link; they are the non-flammable terminators for the link and are built into the wire when it is assembled. And, I don't think you can buy them anywhere.

If I wanted to make the harness look exactly like the original wiring, I'd probably solder-in the fusible link wire, then use some JB-Weld stick epoxy putty to form those little terminating cylinders over each joint.

I am not talking about wires. I am looking for the connector and the pins that go into it. The pins crimp onto the end of the wires. It is a Packard connector, that is the type of connector.

Like the one on the end of this fuse holder? I'm talking about the brass wire end, not the plastic. You need the blades or sockets?

These terminals can be removed from the connector. The terminal has a barb that gets bent back and then the terminal will slip out of the connector. I have some of the male and female terminals, PM me your address and Ill drop a few in an envelope to you.

That is what I need, the male and the female ends. I see alot for most gauge wires but I need them for 10 gauge. I would also like to get a new holder for 6 wires, also male and female.
