Default Corrected distributor cap - color

Does anyone know of a supplier who makes a corrected distributor cap in black? I'm not a fan of red distributor caps.
Thanks

Can't answer your question - but they super cool and I want one !!!
(In black of course!)

EDIT: - I Googled the heck out of it....seems Red is the only option for now.....

Um, OK. I searched for a black corrected cap before I posted here. the Accel site had no part # (black) that was mentioned in the post you referenced (which I had read before). But thanks anyway.

Shoot it with SEM black vinyl dye (spray can) or Krylon 'Fusion' semi-gloss black paint.

Hmmm.....not a bad idea!

Last time I did plug wires - I did the cut to length ones....what a PITA they are....what set are about the right length considering I don't use the shields and run through the motor mount and all that ?

Mike, the "corrected" caps are what he's looking for. A neat idea because they route the wires so that they are on the same side of the cap as the cylinders, IE 1357 on the left, 2468 on the right. Can't remember off the top of my head if they make the order the same as well.

I don't have any info on reliability, though.

Painting the cap is an idea I overlooked. Has anyone ever done that? If so, what were the results long term?
Thanks

The wires are in sequential order from front to back: Left side 1 3 5 7 Right side 2 4 6 8.

What's a "corrected" cap? Seems to me you would have a correct one or an incorrect one. Is there one in the middle?

Depends on if you're asking MSD, the NCRS, or a 16 year old hot rodder.

Received this from Prestolite Performance, Accel parent company:
"We do not currently make it in black. Our company trademark colors are red for automotive, and blue for our marine distributors. We are always looking for new ideas, and appreciate your input. We have regular meetings on new products, and will keep an eye on this for increase demands.
The corrected cap is p/n 8141R (for red). I've been told by some customers that they have painted the outside of their caps with a high temp paint to make it black, although we don't necessarily advocate that idea since you might get overspray on the terminals or other places where you don't want it.
Thanks,

Regards,
Craig"

Aha! That 'splains some of it. I speak NCRS. I read but do not speak MSD. The last time I was 16 was in the last century.

Wow, last millennium for me. You must be just a young punk. I had no idea what a corrected cap was either.

yes you can paint your cap, i tape off the terminal areas where the wires connect,
But they will scratch and show thru red,
so be carefull and don't scratch while working on other stuff
