Default Rear Deck Louvers

On my '75, the area beneath the non-functional ventilation louvers behind the rear window are body color. Is that how the factory finished it or was the indented area painted black to make the "vents" look real?

Thanks

Should have been included in black out, although it might have varied by model year. Check you AIM. Most of the AIMs show what areas were to be included in black out.

Something tells me that Chevrolet never finished it off as nicely as you did Alan.

I have a 75 deck from a wrecked parts car, and it is solid, and body color. There is only an indentation for the grilles, but there is no box like on my 72 Air coupe..

Hi bs,
I believe you'll find that a/c cars didn't have the plenums below the grills and also had the access to the plenums in the rear compartment blocked off.

Alan

Air conditioned cars, didn't get Astro Ventilation. The deck lid was blocked off, under the rear deck louvers.
