We had a 68 show up here the other day that was number 2 off the assembly line. This got me thinking; my car was number 1071 off the line for the '79 model year...,nothing special about that, although it was one of the first 5 imported north. So my question is this, who has a low VIN number for their particular year? Anyone in the top 100? 50? 10? No need to get specific with your VIN if that concerns you.Just wondering if we have any really unique cars.

WTH. The Mecum link above states a coupe with auto and some 69 parts under the hood. Claims to be no. 2.
The forum link shows a convertible with 4 speed manual and also claims no. 2!!!!!!!!!
What did I miss?

Mecum ad "reads" auto, but photos show 4 speed.
These two posts showing up at the same time is also interesting.
I think they were trying to make coupes that early, but had problems with leaky T-Tops---wonder if any of those early "trials" are still out there somewhere?
