I need to replace a part but I have no clue what it is called.
The part is a long metal piece about an inch wide, I think it may be 2 parts. it sits on the edge on the back of the door that is to the inside of the strike post. I think it screws inplace from the inside (from memory or removing the left one)
My opriginal was colored the same as the car but I also think I saw 1 one time chrome.
Hi,
I believe they were typically painted exterior color; and installed with chrome plated, phillips, oval-headed, counter sunk, machine screws.
Regards,
Alan
Alan71 is correct [as usual]. But those screws have 'machine' screw threads, as they are to engage in threaded inserts that are molded into the interior quarter panel trim. I believe they are #8 or #10 screw threads.

Or, as in the case of the '75 convertible I just bought, sheet metal screws that are 1/8" longer than the combined thickness of eveything else, protruding nicely through the quarter trim panels. Oh well, at least the panels are inexpensive- NOT! (Thanks Bubba!)
Yeah I have seen the chrome ones also. If I have enough paint still then I will probably get the paintable ones. I am not sure what other parts I may have missed when I painted the car.
I know those should be (i just forgot to get them before the painting), and possibly the taillight houseing. those are all in crates blocked at the moment since my shop is more of a paint booth at the moment.
