Contact your local paint retailer. It's my understanding new formula lacquer has become available. If your paint jobber has the new stuff, he/she can probably match your silver.
Hi gg2,
I see you're in Pa.
I believe Colours Inc. is a supplier that operates in Pa., and can mix PPG acrylic lacquer. Maybe they have a supplier near you?
Silver is a pretty difficult color to match so it may take some effort to get it right.
Colours Inc. is where the acrylic lacquer that's on my 71 came from.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
my son makes it in pa but we are in bucks county they use ppg and matrix dont know it i spelled it right. a little of a ride but it might be worth the ride
Hi John,
The Duplicator product may be fine for a total repaint (does it come in larger quantities?) but for touch-up or panel repair on existing paint there doesn't seem to be much chance of a 'match'.

Alan
After refurbishing my 68, ...it's almost a completely new car...it needs a paint job. I painted it myself in 1983. I painted it in its original color, medium bright blue lacquer. I think traditional lacquer is banned in California. I'd like to have it re-painted and I think I'll pay to have someone do it. Anyone with knowledge about this traditional Corvette color being repainted in today's California?
When I painted my 70 442 I wanted to go back to original style paint. I sent these fellers listed below my paint code and I had 2 gallons delivered 3 days later. They sell alot of pre-made colors in just about any flavor of paint type but they also do code mixes for 15 extra per gallon. Not sure if they still offer this as I did this a year ago and emailed them before hand. I have only used them once but it was a straight forward deal. I found them when I was researching going back original on my 70.
