He backed up the truck and moved to the side, allowing me to get out of the car.
Looking at the height of this truck, I imagine he was looking "over" my car? This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1024x764.
Pulled into convenience store parking lot, about at a complete stop looking for parking spot, when out of the corner of my eye I see "big blue" in my face---blam! Broadsided.
He said he never saw me. I don't think he hit the brakes until after impact. Moved the Vette about 12' sideways. I'm guessing he was traveling a bit fast for a parking lot, maybe 20mph? Did not see if he was on the phone or otherwise distracted, as I did not see truck coming until about one second before impact.
He was insured, so at least that's a relief.
Sore shoulder, sore neck, twinge in my lower back, head hurts (guess my head hit the driver's door window?)
I'll wait and see what I feel like in the morning.
My poor little '98 (41,000 miles, six speed),
1) 17 year old son takes out a brick mail box (sideswipe)
2) Big Whitetail took out left front
3) I back into the trailer hitch on my Tahoe
4) My wife backs into right rear
5) Now this

That car needs a nickname. Maybe "Lucky".
Just joking, buddy. Sorry about your troubles. I hope you will be all right.
Yes. The newer cars protect their occupants very well, compared to the older ones. The air bag system, better seat belts, stronger frames, stronger passenger compartment birdcages......
People walk away from crashes today that would have killed them not so many years ago.
Sorry about your car. Pretty color. On the bright side, by the time it gets repaired, the c7's will probably be out so you can think of trading. It seems that's how long it always takes me to get a car repaired. Good luck amd hope your not hurt too badly.
Im really impressed at the hit it took. Dang..........it would have crumpled a metal car. Not only is it repairable...but... time to look at the c-7s .......
Actually, the rear tire skid was about 12'. Not sure if the front tires slid at all, so I guess the "hit" was a bit towards the rear.
The front of the left rear wheel took a hard hit from the trucks right front bumper.
That wheel is canted inward a couple of inches. Has to be some suspension geometry askew.
On third Jack, Niner's won, aspirin working, wife in Panama (so no stress there), all's okay.

Head, neck, shoulder, and a lower twinge. I'd go see a doctor to make sure these pains dont bite you down the road in a few days when the insurance company would say its to late now, your aches and pains are from something else, not this accident. Just saying. Sorry to hear about this.
Hello George - so sorry to hear about your car. I am glad to hear that you were not to seriously injured/hurt. Take some time off to get back to 100% again. Take care, my friend. BK3
