They run some nice rides through there, but it seems to me that the big auction houses are only running the prices up so that a typical enthusiast can no longer afford to buy his dream car and it gives every seller the idea that his car is worth twice the real value. I wonder how many of those cars actually go to someone who truly appreciates it instead of someone hoping to make a buck later?

I don't know with those high prices they will never sell those cars for more than they bought it One thing going for them looks like there was no spare in cash rebuilding those cars look clean clean

I know BJ prices are inflated but I'm surprised on some of the high prices the C3s are going for.

I wonder if these higher prices are:

A. The market is coming back

or

B. Thanks to the new C7 that is said to have been inspired by the C3's and collectors and would be buyers see the C3 as being the Big brother to the C7 and feel it has more value or recognition now.

Just a thought anyway. The 1973 resto-mod was nice. Don't think the guys wife was impressed when he stopped bidding and then went up $500 and won it.

When I finally decide to sell my 68 427/400 SURVIVOR,Top Flight car, it looks like BJ is the way to go. I'm anixous to see what a car similar to mine would sell for. Very difficult to establish a price when there maybe that special person looking for something like mine.

I'm thinking if anyone wants to auction off card at bj they probably have to meet high standards like a full resto with all documentation and done right with no corners cut

The prices are going up because the value of the dollar is going down. It takes more dollars to buy something today than yesterday. After the government decides to implement Quantitative Easing III this year (aka making the American pie bigger) you will see your net worth take another hit. Unfortunately, Walmart is not able to induce it's Chinese suppliers to build a knockoff C3 to fit our shrinking bank accounts. I hope the prices of collector cars go right thru the roof. Why? Because it is one of the few things that I have left, other than my house, with any chance of going up in value. Just put things in persepective. My wife had to pay $14,000 for a 4-tooth dental bridge. Welcome to the future.

Having bought and sold at BJ you can make money or lose your ***. This especially with the large majority of cars being no reserve.

Probably not. What you're seeing is Barrett-Jackson fever. It happens every year about this time. Kinda like the flu.

I really don't view BJ as a real world market indicator. It's fun to watch but there are so many factors that make me believe this is nothing more than entertainment. I will continue to watch it though
